"Our activities are aimed at the well-being of people who suffer from vascular malformations like CMTC ('Van Lohuizen syndrome') and to stimulate the scientific research of these afflictions."
An example of the many activities which we are performing. With special thanks to Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) for allowing the use of his music.
Our global member meeting was held on the 14th of November 2015 in the Netherlands.
A total of 126 people from 10 countries was present.
On Saturday the 27th of June we organised the Dutch CMTC-OVM family day again! This year we had chosen the Efteling!
It was perfect in all aspects!
Cato van Lohuizen was the first doctor who has decribed in 1922 CMTC (also called 'Van Lohuizen syndrome'). We have contact with her family for years and thanks to these contacts, we have original photographs of her (even from the 19th century).
On one of the photos is Cato with her brother Theo (in the year 1899) and her doll. We have received her doll from her family on November 10, 2016.
Rare Disease Day is held on the last day of February every year to raise awareness of rare diseases. 28 February 2017 marked the tenth international Rare Disease Day. On and around this day hundreds of patient organisations from countries and regions all over the world held awareness-raising activities based on the theme of research. In the Netherlands a conference was organised in Nieuwegein and CMTC-OVM was present at this event.
Humberto Tan, a dutch television presenter, received an Angel Award.
