Anja Fluijt

Secretary

My name is Anja Fluijt and I am the mother of Niels born in 2004 with many spots throughout the body. By an attending pediatrician we received a referral to the Sofia Children's Hospital in Rotterdam within 3 months, where Dr. Oranje gave the diagnosis CMTC. For so long we are also a member of the association and we try to attend the meetings. Niels grows up as a healthy 'puber' but is aware of his "spots". In the meanwhile, the diagnosis has turned into "capillary malformations" but that is still fine in this association. It would be nice if patients and certainly medical professionals could acquire more knowledge about these conditions. As a mother, I want to work for that. In my daily life, I work as a nurse in a general hospital and am married to Co. Together we have two children: Elise and Lukas.

Jacob Schipper Treasurer
Jacob Schipper is married and has two children. After a major liver transplant he resumed his previous postion as an independent entrepreneur. Now all aspects that belong to his activities with the new media, as well as advising business start-ups. Driven by a social involvement, he also regularly provides support to people who in this fast paced society, are likely to fall between the cracks. In his earlier career he was director and owner of several companies, mostly on scientific instrumentation. His recent activities include editorial activities for a residents association and the creation of a party of pensioners in his hometown of Amersfoort.
Characteristic for him might be his interest in everything that 'grows and blooms'.
The association CMTC is therefore by its special character a new challenge for him because of the work with the whole man, working from a Christian slant.

Lilian Vermeer Editor newsletter

My name is Lilian Vermeer. I have already worked for many years as a scientific journalist. After obtaining a degree in chemistry and a PhD on a biochemical immunological topic I worked for a couple of years for a publisher. After that I started working as an independent (scientific) journalist because I have always liked writing about science and related topics. I did not know anything about CMTC until I went looking for volunteer work and came into contact with the CMTC association. A lot of aspects from CMTC are still unknown especially in the field of genetics. I hope I can contribute to the CMTC association by writing articles and creating newsletters. I am married and mother of a son.
