Organization and volunteers

CMTC-OVM is a global not-for-profit patient organization. All activities are performed by volunteers.

The complications of CMTC range from cosmetic to deadly.

A volunteer in this context is a person who in any organizational context voluntarily performs unpaid work on behalf of others and/or a society where a public interest is served.

CMTC is a rare skin and blood vessel condition whereby complications - in combination with other syndromes - can range from cosmetic to lethal.

In addition to the board of directors, which also consists of volunteers, we have volunteers in various roles such as translator, childcare and guest care. Some volunteers are active periodically throughout the course of a year, while others may only be required for one day.

Volunteering is extremely satisfying and offers volunteer in our global organization many challenges and opportunities!

We have the necessary things arranged for volunteers:

donations make it possible
Our Patients day in 2010 took place in Avifauna bird park (Alphen aan den Rijn).
  1. Volunteers Handbook which for example describes how we as an organization deal with volunteers, which expenses are applicable, the rights and duties of volunteers and the profiles of volunteers.
  2. Our volunteers are insured in both the Netherlands and abroad whenever they travel or work for our organization.
  3. Volunteers are invited to attend our Annual General Meeting in the Netherlands. Here they can meet with patients and their parents and experience the impact of their work.
  4. Volunteers are invited to attend our family day in the Netherlands.
